Fade in shows up correctly in Canvas but not in export

Frustrating when you've figured out something and it works when testing but won't export.

I added in a fade-in to the start of my video and rendered it and double-checked in Canvas window and all looks great. Time to export, finished product looks great EXCEPT for the fade-in at the beginning. What am I forgetting to do guys?
